Rupert is dressed in an expensive blue jacket and hat,
bought especially for the occasion. He really does`nt need an excuse to buy new clothes,
he has several wardrobes full but he does love to be smart.
Rupert is a very interesting character he had a
privileged upbringing, going to a very good school and then on to medical
college where he studied to become a
doctor but he soon got bored with all the learning and book work and left after
just two months. He has regretted it many times over the years but settled down
to generally doing whatever pleases him which is not very much, so it is not
surprising that racing takes up most of
his time these days.
Today Rupert is meeting Granpa in town for a day at the races. They met at
`The Huntingdon Hall Shoot` many years
ago when Granpa was game keeper and have been friends ever since.
Today they are meeting for a quick drink at `The Queen`s
Arms` Pub in Huntingdon, with time to compare notes on the runners and riders of
today`s races before setting off.
